I love the flow of your articles. It makes me wonder the thought process if it's as smooth too lolz. Please just keep it up. I am glad you now take clients too. This is a lot of quality.
I love the lucid information flow, accompanied with gentlemanly sprinkles of humour here and there. Reminds me a bit of Charles Dickens. Wonderful dissemination of information, David. Wonderful. And thanks to your friends who help you refine your essay.
This means a lot to me because I actually studied Dickens’ style to be able to write like this. Thank you for seeing it and for your kind words. Thank you!
The quote from Idah on the data/IT challenges of making a subscription business surprises me so much. I'm not saying I.T. is easy, but most US companies (in my experience) can get this done with a relatively small budget. You would never hear a US CEO make that comment because it would make them seem incompetent.
Clearly Idah is not incompetent and this is a real problem in Africa, hence the market opportunity. I'd love to hear more detail on what unique challenges African digital enterprises face. Lack of engineering talent? Internet infrastructure? Internet access? It could be that there aren't available out-of-the-box software products that make this much easier. Based on the Netflix section of this article it may be a bit of everything.
Smart move from Netflix. Maybe Nigerian Telcos could jump on this, because this means more heavy data consumption. It could be a new Netflix mobile data plan or some sort of partnership.
First time reader of your newsletter and it’s the lucidity for me. Definitely moving from “updates” to “inbox”.
Well done!
This warms my heart. So glad to hear this. Thank you!
Yup! Lucidity! That's the word that accurately describes David's writing style.

The framing did it for me. Taking complex concepts and framing them into colorful expressions. Very brilliant, I must say.
I came here after reading the Piggyvest blog article on David Adeleke. This is so nice and I wonder why I'd never heard about Communique.
Great work, sir.
Thank you for your kind words!

You're much welcome. Charles Dickens would be so proud.
Great post!

Had to take my time to read this edition. As usual, the research and logical reasoning makes this such an excellent read, well done David!

They’ve been experimenting with telco partnerships and gotten mixed results. They’re also exploring that in Africa, but it’s not easy at all. A lot of complexity involved. You can read more about it here: https://techtv.net.ng/2020/10/21/netflix-seeks-telco-partnership-to-unlock-african-market/
